Privacy Policy for Lifescape
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Lifescape is a habit and goal tracker that turns real-world tasks into experience points and levels. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version: Lifescape does not collect your data. Everything you log stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking.
What Lifescape stores
Lifescape stores the following locally on your device, in your browser's or app's local storage:
- The tasks and skills you have set up, including any you create or edit.
- Your log history — which task you completed and on which day.
- Derived progress: experience points, levels, streaks and achievements.
- Your settings, such as the hour at which your day rolls over.
- If you import a Garmin data export, the sleep dates and durations read from that file.
- Automatic local backups: up to four recent snapshots of the data above, kept on your device so your progress can be restored if the stored save is ever damaged. If a save cannot be read, the unreadable copy is also kept on your device until you download or discard it.
This information never leaves your device unless you deliberately export it (see Exporting your data below).
What Lifescape does not do
- No accounts. This version of Lifescape has no sign-in, and no user profile is created.
- No analytics or telemetry. Lifescape contains no analytics, crash-reporting, attribution or measurement software of any kind.
- No advertising. There are no ads and no advertising identifiers are read.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data. Fonts are bundled inside the app rather than loaded from a content delivery network, so simply opening the app contacts no one.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal information. There is nothing collected to sell or share.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders are off until you turn them on. If you enable them, Lifescape asks your device for permission to show notifications and then schedules at most two reminders per day.
- Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device, by your device's own notification system.
- Their content is generated on your device from information already stored there — how many tasks you have left today, and whether a streak is at stake.
- Nothing is sent to a server. Lifescape has no push-notification service, no notification provider, and no device push token is created, read or transmitted.
- No record of whether a reminder was shown, opened or dismissed is collected.
You can turn reminders off inside Lifescape at any time, or revoke the notification permission in your device settings. Lifescape works exactly the same either way — reminders never affect the progress you have earned.
Health and wellbeing information
Lifescape can read a Garmin data export file that you download yourself and choose to open from your device's file picker. When you do:
- The file is read and interpreted entirely on your device.
- Only the sleep dates and durations needed to display and verify your sleep entries are kept.
- Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- Lifescape does not connect to your Garmin account, does not hold Garmin credentials, and cannot access your Garmin data unless you hand it a file.
Sleep data is treated as a convenience cache, not as a permanent record: if you remove it, the progress you have already earned is unaffected.
Network connections
The app does not transmit your information over the internet.
Lifescape contains one outbound link — a button that opens Garmin's own data-export page in your browser, so you can request your export. Following that link takes you to a website operated by Garmin, which is governed by Garmin's privacy policy, not this one. No information about you is passed along by Lifescape when you follow it.
Exporting your data
Lifescape includes an Export feature that writes your data to a file. That file is produced at your request and placed wherever you choose. On Android the file is written to your device's Documents folder (or, if that is unavailable, the app's own storage) and you are then offered your device's share sheet so you can send it somewhere of your choosing. Lifescape does not upload it anywhere. Once exported, the file is under your control, and this policy no longer governs what happens to it.
Deleting your data
Because everything is stored locally, you can delete all of it at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. This includes the automatic local backups described above. Any file you exported yourself is not affected, because it is outside the app. There is no server-side copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no deletion request to make.
Children
Lifescape is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Security
Your data is held in your device's own application storage and is protected by the security of your device — for example, its lock screen and disk encryption. Keeping your device up to date and locked is the most effective protection.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Lifescape introduces optional cloud sync or friend features, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the corresponding Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated to match. The version of the app you have installed is always covered by the policy in effect when it was published.
